U.S., Brazil Capture Grand Prix Cyber Lions in Cannes

Brazil and the United States each won the top Grand Prix Cyber Lions yesterday at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France.


DDB Brasil, Sao Paulo, won the honor for its reality advertising campaign for client Henkel. Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami, also took home the Grand Prix for a "Come Clean" campaign for Method.


Brazil fared the best at Cyber Lions, netting 23 of them: one Grand Prix, three gold, five silver and 14 bronze. The United States was next with 20 Cyber Lions: one Grand Prix, three gold and 16 bronze.


Two other nations posted double-digit tallies. Britain took home 13 Cyber Lions, with two gold, two silver and nine bronze. Germany's 11 awards consisted of one gold, six silver and four bronze.


Sweden took home one gold, two silver and two bronze. Japan won one gold, two silver and one bronze. The Netherlands won a gold, silver and bronze. Canada bagged a gold and two bronze.


A few went home with a single Cyber Lions. South Korea and Spain each won a gold. France, Poland and New Zealand each won a bronze.


All told, 87 Cyber Lions were awarded to agencies from 1,897 submissions. The total included two Grand Prix, 15 gold, 18 silver and 52 bronze.


The Cyber Lions reward creativity and strategic excellence in interactive marketing. It is part of a portfolio of Cannes Lions awards, including honors for press, direct, film, media and outdoor.
