Urban Outfitters' Income Up 109%
Urban Outfitters Inc., Philadelphia, yesterday posted a triple-digit increase in net income for the fiscal third quarter.For the three months ended Oct. 31, direct response - catalog and Web sites - improved from last year's $5.075 million to $6.409 million. Wholesale sales rose from $4.863 million to $6.26 million.
Net income for the fiscal quarter climbed 109 percent to $4.9 million from $2.4 million last year. Net sales increased 20 percent to $92.9 million from $77.1 million last year, while same-store sales improved 2.5 percent.
