UPS Will Raise Rates Jan. 6

UPS will implement new shipping rates Jan. 6, the company said last week.

Next Day Air rates will increase 3.2 percent while the Worldwide Express service will rise 2.9 percent. Rates for UPS commercial ground services will increase 3.9 percent with the residential surcharge changing from $1.10 to $1.15.

UPS said these increases are consistent with other rate hikes in recent years.

UPS also announced that the fuel surcharge, an index-based surcharge that is adjusted monthly, will remain 1.25 percent for November and December.

The new rates will be available on UPS.com or by calling 800-PICKUPS on Dec. 6.
