UPS Mail Innovations Debuts International Mail Services

UPS Mail Innovations, Atlanta, the business mail services unit of United Parcel Service, announced yesterday that it now offers international mail services.

UPS Mail Innovations expedites flats, mail pieces weighing less than one pound and bound printed matter for businesses by providing the upstream mail processes such as pickup, sorting, weighing, applying postage and placement into the U.S. Postal Service for final delivery.

Typical UPS Mail Innovations customers include financial and educational institutions, printing and publishing companies, manufacturers and associations, which rely heavily on mail services to send newsletters, price lists, product brochures and annual or financial reports. The unit operates 12 processing facilities in the United States.

Through relationships with global postal authorities, UPS Mail Innovations now also processes U.S.-outbound business mail and transports it to postal authorities for final delivery to addresses in 200 countries.

UPS Mail Innovations handles both "priority" and "economy" classes of international mail. Also, its time in transit for "economy" mail typically is one to four days faster than other international mail service providers, the company claims.
