UPS Expands OnLine Tools Access Internationally

Share this article:
UPS, Atlanta, said yesterday that its OnLine Tools service now can be accessed from the Web by customers in 37 countries.

In addition, UPS said that customers in 34 countries now have wireless access to tracking information.

The moves are part of a push by UPS to provide companies outside the United States access to the latest technology options, allowing them to better manage their business and serve their customers.

OnLine Tools enables companies to integrate tracking, rates and service selection and other UPS shipping functions into their own Web sites, avoiding jumps from one Web site to another. OnLine Tools is available in 46 countries through UPS e-commerce account representatives. But now the tools can be downloaded off the Web in 37 of those countries, in the native language, in minutes.

On the wireless front, UPS has been working closely with Air2Web, using its Mobile Internet Platform to extend wireless tracking around the globe. The number of countries with wireless access has increased recently to 34. Additions include China, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. UPS customers in those areas now can track packages in their native languages, including traditional and simplified Chinese, Korean and Japanese, as well as in English.
