UPS Completes Acquisition of Overnite

United Parcel Service said Friday it completed the acquisition of carrier Overnite Corp. for $43.25 per share, or about $1.25 billion, in an all-cash transaction.


Overnite shareholders approved the transaction Aug. 4.


Overnite, Richmond, VA, serves 60,000 customers in the less-than-truckload and truckload segments. It has operations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
