Universal Music reaches out to Spanish speakers with mobile

Universal Music Group (UMG) has expanded its work with mobile marketing services firm Mozes to include promotions targeting Spanish-speaking and bilingual music fans. The companies announced the work on April 26, the same day Mozes debuted its Spanish-language marketing platform.

Mozes' service enables marketers to create mobile campaigns and distribute content in Spanish. UMG is the platform's launch client. The companies have worked together on mobile marketing since 2006.

Universal will distribute mobile music downloads, ringtones and wallpapers from its Spanish-language artists via the service. Marketers can create initiatives such as texting campaigns, mobile sweepstakes and online widgets using the platform.

Brands can also directly promote the campaigns on their Facebook and Twitter pages through the platform.

Universal's Latin Entertainment division includes artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Cristina and Bronco.

Neither UMG or Mozes could be immediately reached for comment.
