TSIG Places Hopes in New ExecsWith an executive reorganization and recent string of transactions poised to help it grow, TeleServices International Group Inc., has shifted gears onto the fast track of the $8 billion outsourced industry.
The St. Petersburg, FL, company that got its start in 1992 handling 800 calls for various state visitors and convention bureaus, is aggressively pursuing publishing, telecommunications and utilities, insurance firms and the financial industry as part of its portfolio of clients.
Heading the effort is a recently tapped roster of new executives that has landed Alyce Cucurullo, chief operating officer; Catherine Krell, vice president marketing communications, Jeannie Lewin, vice president sales. Cucurullo, a former executive vice president and chief operating officer of IQI Inc., had been serving as a management consultant to TSIG since April. She will report to TSIG chairman and chief executive, Robert Gordon.
The new lineup stabilizes the company's management which had been in flux based on the departures of two top executives and consultant stints that had been prevalent at the company. Steve McLean, formerly chief executive, and Ray Wilson, the company's former chief financial officer recently exited the company to launch Sienna Limited Partnerhsip, a holding company that has not ties to TSIG.
"The new management team has proven track records within their individual industry expertise," said Gordon in a statement about the executive appointments. "They are committed to growing TSIG and its subsidiaries into a premier outsourced teleservices provider."
The company, which in late April acquired direct marketing music company Compact Connection Inc., is targeting growth through inbound teleservices business and a focus on sales, order capture, customer service, product support, billing assistance and direct response advertising. With its acquisition of Compact Connection, the company is also eyeing the expansion of that business which in 1997 tallied $11 million in revenue and $800,000, a seven percent jump, in net income. CCI is reportedly one of the top-10 largest direct music marketers in the United States.
Additionally, TSIG last month inked a five-year deal to handle a crisis hotline with Recovery Network, a counseling services organization currently operated by the federal government that uses radio, television and the Internet to link individuals with local assistance resources. TSIG will deploy professionally trained crisis management agents for TeleCare calls.
"This team is building our business for long-term success. They are a focused, cohesive team that has a clear vision of the tasks ahead," Gordon added. Additional management appointments include Timothy Heideman as the company's director of call center operations; Richard Olson, who was named vice president account management and customer service. Darrell Piercy was also named as president, of Compact Connection, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of TSIG.
