TRUSTe Picks SubscriberMail

Online privacy certification service TRUSTe tapped SubscriberMail to handle outbound e-mail after the task got too large to manage in-house.

TRUSTe will use SubscriberMail's hosted e-mail services to automate the creation and delivery of newsletters and informational mailings to members. TRUSTe's e-mail list includes chief privacy officers, public affairs executives and individuals who influence privacy policy efforts.

TRUSTe is a 9-year-old privacy and anti-spam advocate, running one of the largest privacy seal programs certifying 1,500 Web sites. Sponsors include Microsoft Corp., DoubleClick, AOL and Intuit. SubscriberMail, Lisle, IL, has clients such as the Chicago Bulls, ACNielsen and the American Marketing Association.

SubscriberMail's use of Return Path's Sender Score Certified program, formerly known as Bonded Sender, influenced TRUSTe's choice. The company's privacy and anti-spam guidelines as well as response measurement features also helped clinch the TRUSTe account.
