Online privacy certification service Truste tapped SubscriberMail to handle outbound e-mail messages after the task got too large to manage in-house.

The Lisle, IL-based e-mail services provider will handle Truste's outbound e-mail communications to members. Truste joins a roster of SubscriberMail clients that includes the Chicago Bulls, ACNielsen and the American Marketing Association.

Nine-year-old Truste is a leading privacy and anti-spam advocate, running one of the largest privacy seal programs certifying 1,500 Web sites. Truste sponsors include Microsoft Corp., DoubleClick, AOL and Intuit.

SubscriberMail's Sender Score Certified program, formerly known as Bonded Sender, was a key factor in Truste's ESP decision. The company's privacy and anti-spam guidelines as well as response measurement features also helped clinch the Truste account.

Truste will use SubscriberMail's hosted e-mail services to automate the creation and delivery of newsletters and informational mailings to members. The Truste e-mail list includes chief privacy officers, public affairs executives and individuals who are influence privacy policy efforts.
