Trillium Adds DPV to Software

Trillium Software, a division of Harte-Hanks Inc., said yesterday that Delivery Point Validation, which authenticates the accuracy of mailings, has become available as part of the Trillium Software System.

Implementing DPV with the Trillium Software System lets customers quickly verify that a given U.S. street address really exists, down to the street, apartment or suite number and nine-digit ZIP code.

The DPV data set, which consists of the nearly 150 million addresses to which the U.S. Postal Service delivers daily, is updated monthly.

Len Dubois, vice president of marketing for Trillium, Billerica, MA, said that by identifying the precise location of a prospect or customer "organizations can reduce costs through more efficient routing of package delivery, decrease the liability associated with mail fraud and increase customer service and satisfaction."

* In other news, Harte-Hanks, San Antonio, said that it implemented a technology-based logistics solution for Wabash Technologies, a Huntington, IN, automotive industry supplier.

The program includes online procurement of all modes of freight transportation using a custom-designed order-entry system. The solution also includes the design and implementation of an electronic interface between Wabash and its vendors.

Harte-Hanks said the implementations have helped Wabash achieve more than a 20 percent savings in transportation charges in the first three months of the program.
