Travelzoo Enters Canadian Market

Travel deals site Travelzoo Inc. will enter the Canadian market April 3 with an office in Toronto as part of a plan to internationalize its brand.


The New York company has 156,000 Canadian subscribers to its U.S. online newsletters offering information on travel deals. The Toronto office is the third foreign Travelzoo office after London and Munich.


Travelzoo's expansion will lead to the publication of qualified travel deals specifically for Canadian consumers. It also lets U.S. advertisers offer travel deals from Canada.


The company claims to reach 9 million subscribers in the United States and Britain through its site at www.travelzoo.com, SuperSearch travel search engine, Newsflash e-mail alert service and the Top 20 e-mail newsletter. All offers are reviewed for the effective travel value.
