TravelGalileo.com Debuts

Galileo International Inc. said yesterday that it is taking bricks-and-mortar travel agencies to the Web with the launch of TravelGalileo.com.

The new travel portal will give travelers 24-hour access to hotels, airlines and rental car companies. By using TravelGalileo, consumers can book arrangements through their favorite travel agencies or can research travel rates and make arrangements on their own.

Galileo International will work to develop uniquely branded travel agency Web sites and will provide these agencies with promotional templates they can integrate with their own marketing efforts.

"TravelGalileo gives agencies a point of presence on the Internet behind the reputable name of Galileo International," said Cliff O'Neal, manager of media relations, Galileo International Inc., Rosemont, OH.

Galileo International boasts an offline network of 14,200 travel agencies. More than 40 agencies have signed on for TravelGalileo.com's services.
