Trader Joe's Parker Signs With Virtual Vineyards

Michael Parker has left specialty food-store chain Trader Joe's, Los Angeles, to become president and CEO of online wine and food retailer Virtual Vineyards, Palo Alto, CA, (www.virtualvin.com).

"The Internet is the future of retailing," Parker said. "The Web isn't just a marketing channel, it's a revolution in how premium products are purchased. This is a unique opportunity to take part in such a revolution."

Parker will replace Robert Olson, CEO and co-founder of Virtual Vineyards, who will remain chief technical officer.
