Bill Communications, New York, recently announced plans to rent the e-mail addresses of 150,000 subscribers who receive the publisher's trade magazines or belong to its industry databases.

EPostDirect, the e-mail division of direct marketing list firm Edith Roman Associates Inc., will market and manage the publisher's e-mail lists.

Bill Communications' publications cover retail, food and beverage, sales and marketing, training, travel and other industries. Titles include Progressive Grocer, Restaurant Business, Convenience Store News and Hospitality Design.

EPostDirect will offer selections from 150,000 business opt-in names from 30 publications and 15 industry- and management-focused databases. The names include officials in middle management, sales and marketing, training and information technology.

"The decision to consolidate all of our e-mail list management with ePostDirect was reached after many months of extensive research and analysis," Joanne Wheatley, corporate circulation director at Bill Communications, said in a prepared statement. "By combining all our subscriber databases under one umbrella, we will be able to offer mailers one-stop shopping for ... subscriber names from our publications and targeted title and industry databases with opt-in e-mail names."

Michelle Feit, president of ePostDirect, said this is the first time Bill Communications is releasing its e-mail addresses for outside rental.
