TPG Buys Global Freight Forwarder Wilson

Dutch mail, express and logistics company TPG N.V. announced Friday its acquisition of global freight-forwarding company Wilson Logistics Group, based in Sweden, from Nordic Capital for about $308.7 million.

The deal, to be financed with cash reserves, is expected to close in the third quarter. Wilson has global freight-forwarding operations in 28 countries.

By acquiring Wilson's freight-forwarding capabilities, TPG subsidiary TNT will offer its contract logistics clients a full array of supply-chain management services including air freight, sea freight and combined sea/air freight. The deal is also expected to attract new clients in the contract logistics business.
