Time Inc. Suspends Teen People

Time Inc. is suspending publication of Teen People with its September 2006 issue. The complementing Web site at www.teenpeople.com will continue operating.

The magazine and Web site launched in 1998 to target the teen girl market.

According to www.ap.org, falling circulation and ad revenue prompted the suspension. Earlier this year publisher Hachette Filipacchi Media closed its Elle Girl magazine but also kept the Web site.

Time Inc. said that it is taking immediate steps to place Teen People magazine employees within other Time Inc. publications.
