The Hartford, Ford Sign Affinity Marketing Agreement

The Hartford and Ford Motor Co. this week said they have formed a multiyear affinity relationship through which Ford will offer Ford-brand auto insurance to the owners of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles throughout the United States and to customers of Ford Credit. The Hartford, CT, insurance company will underwrite the Ford Motor Co. Vehicle Insurance Program, which will be promoted via direct mail and other channels. The agreement also gives Hartford the ability to offer other forms of insurance to Ford customers, including personal liability, homeowners, home-based business and watercrafts. Direct mail promoting the auto plan will begin in Florida next month and will be rolled out throughout the country during the next year.
