Thanks Again, MetroSplash team for fuel rewards

The Thanks Again loyalty network has partnered with MetroSplash Systems Group to offer free gas rewards to members.

MetroSplash's gas rewards program, FuelLinks, will allow Thanks Again members to redeem their loyalty points — earned through “everyday spending” at local partners like restaurants and dry cleaners — for free fuel at more than 4,400 locations in 28 states. ThanksAgain has more than 300,000 members nationwide.

“We wanted to expand our currency or rewards options, and one that was highly rated in consumer surveys was the gas reward opportunity,” explained Marc Ellis, CEO of Thanks Again. “We were also intrigued by FuelLinks because there is a low redemption threshold: our members can earn and use points very quickly, and consumers demanded that.”

Steve Babick, president and CEO of MetroSplash, added, “Fuel is probably one of the most relevant rewards out there. Gas is at top-of-mind for consumers, and in this volatile economic situation they're looking to save pennies and dimes and dollars. This is a perfect example of where consumers can get direct rewards and spend them on every street corner in America most effectively.”

The partnership adds to Thanks Again's rewards options, which also include airline miles, cash back, gift cards and “Give Green” charitable contributions, and Ellis predicts it will expand the program's consumer base. He's also hoping the new reward will boost Thanks Again's in-store transaction rates.

MetroSplash benefits from the agreement, too, by adding smaller local merchants to its partner stable of big box retailers, grocery stores and airline programs. Babick said the program would appeal to MetroSplash's target demographic of coupon-conscious soccer moms. MetroSplash has 1.3 million members.
