TeleTech Gains Brazilian Contract

TeleTech Holdings Inc., a teleservices agency, signed a five-year deal yesterday with Anatel, Brazil's federal telecommunications regulator, to provide inbound call support.

TeleTech will provide information to consumers and businesses about the Brazilian telecommunications, broadcast and Internet markets. It also will answer consumer calls about claims and disputes with telecommunications providers.

The majority of the 24-hour-seven-days-a-week service provided by the company will be conducted from a TeleTech call center. The company also will help manage and operate Anatel-owned facilities.

Anatel is hiring TeleTech as it prepares to participate in the deregulation of Brazil's telecommunications industry over the next few years. Further details about the agreement were not released.

TeleTech, Denver, has locations in 11 countries. It has 23,000 employees and operates 43 contact centers, 26 of them outside the United States.
