TeleSpectrum Replaces Top Management Again

For the second time in five months, telemarketing outsourcer TeleSpectrum Worldwide Inc., King of Prussia, PA, has new leadership. J. Peter Pierce, former president/CEO of information management provider Iron Mountain Inc., this week became president and chairman of TeleSpectrum. Former president/CEO Vincent J. Ciavardini, who took the job in August, left the company while former chairman F.R. "Pete" Talbott will remain on the company's board of directors. TeleSpectrum also named Christopher J. Williams chief operating officer, Joseph Nezi executive vice president of business development and Ronald Muhlenhaupt senior vice president of corporate communications. All three formerly held positions at Iron Mountain, Boston. In November, after posting an $8.7 million loss in the third quarter, TeleSpectrum announced staff reductions as part of an effort to cut costs by $10 million to $15 million per year. The company's stock fell last year from more than $10 per share in January to 12.5 cents per share in November.
