Teleperformance Buys Majority in CallTech

French teleservices conglomerate SR.Teleperformance said yesterday that its North American subsidiary, Teleperformance USA, bought an 85 percent interest in CallTech Communications.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. CallTech, Columbus, OH, operates six call centers in the eastern United States totaling 2,400 workstations.

CallTech provides inbound teleservices, with 75 percent of its business dedicated to tech support and the rest to customer service. The company is expected to generate $90 million in revenue in 2004, SR.Teleperformance said.

CallTech has served clients in the broadband, Internet service provider and fast-moving consumer goods industries. Its founders will continue to manage the company and retain 15 percent ownership.
