Telematch acquires Phoenix Data Processing, Farm Market iD

Telematch Inc., a marketing and information services provider, has acquired two new businesses from Multi Ag Media LLC: Phoenix Data Processing and Farm Market iD. The prices of the two companies were not disclosed.

Phoenix Data Processing specializes in database management, marketing and modeling technology. It also offers new mover data and new mover data services. The Phoenix acquisition is supposed to improve Telematch's data offerings, making it possible for the company to provide data dashboarding, real-time information, analytics and database management.

“There's a great synergy between Phoenix and Telematch — they do everything we don't do and vice versa,” said Peg Kuman, CEO, Telematch. “They have great strength in database management, data dashboarding, allowing clients they manage to have real-time access to all information, terrific modeling and analytics capability, and their new mover product probably the best I've seen anywhere. Bolting the two businesses together allows the new company to offer full-service turnkey solutions for clients.”

Farm Market iD offers an agricultural database, which Telematch will expand. Telematch will also add new applications to the Farm Market iD database. This is Telematch's first move into the content business, but Kuman said the company plans to add more content businesses in the future.

No layoffs are planned at the acquired companies, and they will retain their Chicago offices. The former heads of Phoenix and Farm Market iD, John Montandon and Scott Smith, will stay on as senior consultants, while Peg Kuman serves as CEO of the combined companies. Farm Market iD will retain its 40-year-old brand, but within the next six months, Phoenix and Telematch will begin to merge through a new service and branding strategy.

An investment group led by Brook Venture Partners and Nancy Creek Capital helped finance the acquisition, which officially closed on Monday, May 11.
