Techie Site Extends International Reach

Dealnews.com, a 4-year-old bargains Web site targeted at the technology consumer market, has added a link to a proprietary special rates page on computers, home electronics and other digital equipment from vendors outside the United States.

The page also shows where internationally those vendors offer delivery.

Dealnews CEO Dan de Grandpre said surveys were sent to the vendors to get the information for this feature.

De Grandpre said only an item's lowest prices merit appearance on dealnews or his firm's Macintosh-oriented site Dealmac.com. He said standard coupon specials are not mentioned at the sites unless they are especially low-priced.
