TBWA/Chiat/Day Becomes Agency of Record For Pets.com

TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco, an advertising agency with billings estimated at $1.8 billion, this week was named agency of record for Pets.com, San Francisco.


TBWA/Chiat/Day will take full charge of developing the growing category leader's multimillion-dollar branding and marketing communications campaign.


Carisa Bianchi, president/CEO of TBWA/Chiat/Day, said the agency wanted to work with Pets.com because it believed the company was the online pet retailer "best positioned to win" in the marketplace.


At Pets.com, CEO Julie Wainwright said the company chose TBWA/Chiat/Day because the agency had a strong, proven track record in the creation of impactful campaigns that endure.


Pets.com provides pet supplies, products, information and services. It is a privately held company funded by Amazon.com and Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. Pets.com says the U.S. pet market is a $23 billion dollar industry.


TBWA/Chiat/Day is part of TBWA Worldwide, the 11th largest worldwide advertising network, with billings in excess of $5.7 billion and offices in 65 countries.
