Tate Named President of Fingerhut Catalog

Fingerhut Companies Inc., Minneapolis, MN, has named Richard Tate president of the Fingerhut Catalog. Tate was previously senior vice president of merchandising for Fingerhut Companies. He first joined the company in 1989 heading up the merchandising division for housewares, home accessories and furniture.


In his new role Tate will oversee the 50-year-old Fingerhut Catalog while helping the company grow its key operation through more coordinated interfacing between its marketing and merchandising functions.


Characterizing him as a true leader, Will Lansing, CEO of Fingerhut said Tate, was the perfect person to provide integrated leadership for the company's base business.


Before joining Fingerhut, Tate served in merchandising management roles for Cable Value Network and Dayton Hudson.


Fingerhut Companies Inc. is a database marketing company offering products and services through catalogs, direct response, and the Internet. The company is owned by Federated Department Stores Inc.
