Target, E*Trade Plan Marketing Effort

Target Stores, Minneapolis, and E*Trade Group Inc., Menlo Park, CA, yesterday said they would launch a multichannel marketing partnership to boost the online financial services company's presence in the physical world.

E*Trade will test the placement of a branded financial services kiosk in a SuperTarget Store in Roswell, GA. The companies also will develop a customized, co-branded Web site and market it to the database of Target Guest Card holders.

The companies also plan to explore the possibility of rolling out the kiosks to additional SuperTarget locations and to conduct cross-promotional campaigns between etrade.com, target.com and Target Stores. The Target chain includes 921 department stores.

The 400-square-foot Roswell kiosk, which will include a co-branded ATM, will allow consumers to conduct online banking, open an E*Trade account or speak to an E*Trade representative about its other products and services.
