System Tracks Customer Data for Upsells
The tracking reports are automatically updated every time a visitor or recipient interacts with a marketing message. The reports can be used to make product offers and upsells to repeat site visitors.
The system employs a rules-based system for the upsells. A person buying golf clubs can be automatically offered golf shoes, for example. Marketers can rewrite the rules by clipping and pasting HTML code, without the help of information technology experts, according to BEA, San Jose, CA.
The system also offers clients templates to launch e-mail programs. Campaign Manager for WebLogic will be targeted at businesses that have yet to begin online promotions and are looking for a system that handles both e-mail and Internet marketing.
The system will cost $10,000 per computer processing unit.
BEA designed the system to work with its recently launched Internet marketplace architecture, WebLogic.
