Survey.com Says Business Intelligence Will Grow In Europe
Survey.com, Campbell, CA, an e-research company, last week released research results showing that the European business intelligence and data warehousing, or BI/DW, market will grow exceptionally well in the next several years. According to Survey.com, BI/DW applications are expected to grow four to five times by 2002, and expenditures on BI/DW solutions in Europe are projected to grow by 85 percent over the next three years.Survey.com also said that Oracle and Microsoft are leading the way in mind share for BI/DW software in the expanding European market. IBM is third, followed closely by Cognos and Business Objects. Key business problems being addressed by BI/DW solutions in Europe -- the more traditional financial and sales analysis applications, as well as CRM, supply-side analysis and employee-related analysis -- are much the same as those in North America, "though on a slightly smaller scale," Survey.com reported.
