Survey: 75% of Organizations Will Maintain or Increase CRM Spending

Three-quarters of respondents in a recent poll by META Group Inc. plan to spend the same amount or more on CRM applications than they did in the previous 12 months.


The study also found that recent events in the enterprise application market, such as efforts by JD Edwards and Oracle to acquire PeopleSoft, have dampened interest in buying strategic CRM applications.


"Given recent events, enterprises concerned about relying too heavily on a single technology vendor should consider incorporating offerings from CRM specialist providers into their environments," said Elizabeth Roche, vice president, enterprise application strategies at META Group, Stamford, CT. "In fact, some vendors are overhauling their architectures to enable component environments and mitigate some integration challenges."
