SubscriberMail Patents E-Mail Method

SubscriberMail was awarded a patent covering multilevel-channel e-mail marketing, the Naperville, IL, company said last week.

SubscriberMail said it soon would begin enforcing the patent. It covers the process where a company creates e-mail content that is provided to distributors or franchisees, which can add their own information. The patent also covers the reporting process, which returns campaign data to the company.

"Our attorneys haven't finished the review process," said Jordan Ayan, SubscriberMail CEO. "The best thing for anyone in e-mail marketing would be to review the patent and see if it applies."

SubscriberMail clients include the Chicago Bulls, the American Kennel Club and AC Nielsen. Ayan said it has used the process covered in the patent for the past six years.
