Overview
During the past 33 years, the John Caples International Awards has celebrated creative solutions to direct marketing problems with winning entries from direct marketing professionals around the world. In partnership with Direct Marketing News, Caples is proud to continue the Caples Student Campaign of the Year Award, which offers undergraduate students a remarkable first-time opportunity to be part of this annual international event and compete for an internship and substantial cash prize based on the strength of their ideas and innovation in the field of direct marketing.
Sponsored by Alloy Media + Marketing, the competition allows students to take a real-world problem and apply their knowledge of direct marketing.
The Assignment
Every year, students are asked to use their creativity and their ability to think strategically to create a campaign that ensures the client achieves its desired objective. This year, students will be asked to design a marketing campaign for the Sony VAIO laptop series. For full details, please download the entry kit HERE.
In 2009, students were asked to design a marketing campaign for the Sony Reader.
The 2008 winning team assisted the client, Pentel, in converting their idea into a live campaign. View this campaign at www.spinthepen.com.

The winning individual or group will receive a generous $5,000 cash prize.
