STS Systems Ramps Up for Bergdorf's
Bergdorf Goodman will begin using the database at its corporate headquarters in April.
"The aim [of the marketing system] is to encourage a closer relationship between sales associates and individual customers," said Maurice Dembsky, Bergdorf Goodman's chief financial officer and senior vice president.
Bergdorf Goodman's database previously was handled by a service bureau that provided monthly updates on customer spending patterns. Results from promotions took between four and six weeks to prepare and receive, Dembsky said.
STS says MarketWorks will let retailers receive that information in real time.
