Strategic Holdings buys e-commerce merchant Buzzskin

Strategic Holdings Group acquired Buzzskin, an online marketing and e-commerce company focused on men's grooming products, last week. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The holding company's goal is to grow new customer acquisition through online, e-mail, affiliate marketing and PR. Buzzskin sells and markets men's facial, shaving and anti-aging products from brands including Baxter of California, Menscience, Balla Powder, Sharp's, Jack Black and Urth.

Scott Hinckley, president of Strategic Holdings, said his company “liked the fact that they were doing a considerable amount of business with Amazon.com.”

“They had 200 products on Amazon, and that is an area we are looking to expand into with our other product lines,” he said. “We saw that as a great synergy and a need that we had.”

Hinckley added Strategic Holdings will rebrand Buzzskin, although it has not picked a new brand name. Buzzskin's four employees were not retained by Strategic Holdings, but the company will hire other staffers to work on the business, he added.
