Stoneback Named DMEF President
He succeeds Richard Montesi, who retired in December.
The DMEF was established 35 years ago to expand and improve direct marketing education and attract and help train new talent for the field. The foundation offers 15 to 20 programs in direct and interactive marketing yearly, targeted mainly to undergraduate and graduate students and educators.
Stoneback will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the foundation, including fund raising, program development and the continued expansion of relationships between the education and direct and interactive marketing business communities.
Stoneback was with Rodale Press for 24 years. Most recently, he was a corporate vice president responsible for government affairs, postal matters, community relations and environmental issues. Stoneback has been involved with several business-related organizations, including the DMA, the Magazine Publishers of America, the Interassociation Council of Paper and the Environment, the Mailers Council and the Pennsylvania Magazine Publishers Association, which he founded. He is chairman and owner of the fly-fishing magazine publisher Abenaki Publishers Inc.
