StarTek Plans Another Ontario Call Center

StarTek Inc. said yesterday it planned to open a 40,000-square-foot call center in Sarnia, Ontario, the teleservices provider's fifth facility in Canada.

The call center will be operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will employ 500 people when it becomes fully operational later this year, the company said. StarTek, Denver, specializes in inbound customer care and technical support.

StarTek also operates call centers in Regina, Saskatchewan, and the Ontario towns of Kingston, where it has two facilities, and Cornwall. The Sarnia site will give it 18 call centers worldwide.

The company said it decided to open another Canadian facility because of its success in recruiting associates for its facilities in Kingston.
