Staples Moves to Simplify Online Buying

Business customers of office products retailer Staples are now able to integrate their systems from Ariba, Commerce One and other vendors into StaplesLink.com, the company's business-to-business e-commerce solution.

According to Staples, integrating the purchasing systems of BTB customers will take place at Staples.B2B.com. It is expected to reduce e-procurement system integration costs for office supplies by 10 percent to 15 percent, cut traditional implementation times by more than 30 percent and increase productivity for customers, the company said.

Staples.B2B.com will provide project management tools, a graphically-driven implementation path, resource estimation guides and a helpdesk. The site also includes templates to facilitate integration with Staples' back-end systems. The online process is available to corporate customers with no additional costs or fees.
