SPSS Offers Recommendation Engine

SPSS Inc.'s Enabling Technologies Division, Miami, yesterday announced the availability of the SPSS Recommendation Engine, an analytical system based on SPSS data mining, modeling and deployment technologies.


The engine lets organizations make personalized recommendations based on data derived from demographic attributes and customer behavior, including past purchases and Web usage, the company said. The system discovers customer segments, establishes product associations for each segment and uses the segments to make recommendations.


The recommendations can be deployed online (at the point of customer interaction) to Web sites, call centers and brick-and-mortar outlets or offline to direct mail or marketing campaign systems.
