SportsLine.com, Asiacontent.com Form Joint Venture

SportsLine.com Inc.'s Sports.com signed a letter of intent yesterday to form an Internet joint venture with Asiacontent.com.


The joint venture will create and operate a family of SportsLine-branded Web sites targeted specifically to Asian audiences. It will cover China and all major Pacific Rim Internet markets outside of Japan. Sports.com will own 20 percent of the joint venture with options to increase its stake.


Sports.com will license its service, content, technology and hosting services to Asiacontent.com, which will contribute the initial capital and provide content, operations, production, translation, editorial and marketing support.
