Spectra Products merges with Take 5 Solutions

Kinderhook Industries-owned direct marketing services companies Spectra Products and Take 5 Solutions have merged, John Lofquist, director of marketing and communications at Take 5 told Direct Marketing News.

Spectra Products will retain its brand but will be repositioned as a Take 5 Solutions business unit. Anthony Aquino, president and CEO of Spectra Products, will remain with the company as president of Spectra. He will report directly to David Thornbury, Take 5 Solution's CEO.

Kinderhook Industries will retain a majority interest in Spectra and all of the company's employees will be retained and remain in Johnson City, N.Y., said Lofquist.

“The merger really expands our multichannel marketing solutions,” he explained. “This gives us access to in-house products and services we wouldn't have otherwise. The synergy is just right.”

Spectra Products offers full-service direct marketing and media services capabilities, including a specialty in statement inserts.

Take 5 provides multichannel marketing, trigger, compiled and direct response data and mobile technology services.

The merger closed on Sept. 20.

Earlier this month, Take 5 acquired Ireland-based app-development firm Digital Reach Group.

“We are looking at other companies that hopefully we can close on in the last quarter of 2011,” said Loquist.
