Specialty Catalog Loses President/CEO

Steven L. Bock will step down as chairman/CEO and president of Specialty Catalog Corp., South Easton, MA, Dec. 31, to pursue personal interests. No successor has been named. Bock will assist in the search process for a CEO and will become a director of the company as of Jan. 1, 2000.


Separately, the consumer product catalog marketer announced second quarter and six months 1999 results for the period ended June 30. Net income was down for second quarter this year to 864,000 from $1.1 million for the same period last year, while first half 1999 net income rose to $1.4 million from $760,000 for the same period last year. Specialty's catalogs of wigs, hairpieces and hair accessories includes Paula Young, Especially Yours and Paula's Hatbox, as well as its educational products and courses through its Western Schools catalog.
