SpeciaLISTS, Latin-Pak at Odds Over Account
Judd Bergenfeld, president of the alternative media division, said in a Dec. 29 letter to Latin-Pak that "professional differences in business philosophies and practices" forced the resignation. The SpeciaLISTS confirmed that a lack of exclusivity as the list manager was a factor.
Andaloro, president/CEO of Hispanic marketer Latin-Pak, Malibu, CA, said the SpeciaLISTS had signed a two-year contract in August that didn't guarantee exclusivity as list manager. Latin-Pak also relies on its own sales force to generate business from direct marketers. This arrangement resulted in clients being contacted by both parties.
The properties under management are a 4 million monthly circulation FSI program, a 1.5 million monthly door-hanger program and a 250,000 quarterly mail cooperative that is slated to launch next month.
Bergenfeld said the SpeciaLISTS was resigning to allow Latin-Pak to seek opportunities elsewhere but will cancel its resignation if Andaloro wants to dispute the management contract.
