SparkLIST.com Adds Bandwidth to Benefit Financial Services Firms

E-mail list hosting and messaging service provider SparkLIST.com said yesterday it has more than doubled its available operating network bandwidth to 45 megabits per second from 21 Mbps.

The company said that the network upgrade will benefit its financial services customers, which rely on SparkLIST.com's services to handle large loads. It is also expected to benefit the company's larger clients, many of whom send millions of e-mail messages a month.

"Some of our clients, for example, are in the financial services sector, and timeliness is a serious issue," said Christopher Knight, SparkLIST.com's CEO. "The additional bandwidth gives them the additional level of comfort knowing their service provider can handle any type of volume they can generate."

Although SparkLIST.com operates a 100-megabyte, fiber-based network, it had bandwidth limitations of only 21 Mbps. Knight said opening up the network is equivalent to mailing 29 T1 lines simultaneously. Customers should see a measurable speed improvement, he said.
