Spanish Vogue Sets Size Record

Conde Nast Publications' Spanish Vogue issue in March created a new record for the Vogue franchise. The issue is 1,006 pages long and weighs just under 6 pounds.

The magazine includes a 606-page supplement on fashion collections that is bound into the book. The main magazine boasts 175 advertising pages out of 400, and the supplement has 173 advertising pages. The issue cost the same as other Vogue magazines.

Conde Nast said the Spanish Vogue's March issue beat the same-month Spanish Elle and the local Telva, both with three supplements, are 688 pages and 564 pages, respectively, while the 336-page Marie Claire has two supplements.

The Spanish Vogue also bested an 832-page record set by its American sibling in September 2004. Yolanda Sacristan is editor of Spanish Vogue and Javier Pascual del Olmo is president of Conde Nast Spain.

Separately, Quince Girl launches March 1 in the United States. The New York-based magazine targets 400,000 Hispanic girls who turn 15 each year with content focusing on that advance into adulthood. Articles on Hispanic traditions and timelines for planning such celebrations will feature.
