Space.com Chooses ITXC for Internet Voice Connection

Space.com yesterday chose ITXC Corp., Beaverton, OR, to provide technology to allow the site's customers to speak with customer support agents using an Internet voice connection.

People who go to the Web site to buy Starry Night, which is a home astronomy software program published by Space.com, can click a button to be connected with a call center representative. The representative can guide the customer through the ordering process and answer questions about the software.

Space.com said offering potential customers the option of speaking to a live agent would encourage more of them to commit to making a purchase. ITXC charges for the service on a per-call basis.
