Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina customers will be able to access complimentary healthcare and discounts through special links through Blue Cross Web sites. Members will be able to access information about complimentary and alternative healthcare and can purchase discounted health products.

Late last year, Blue Cross-developed Natural Blue - Holistic Health Choices. The company signed an agreement with American Specialty Health Networks to provide discounted complementary healthcare programs for customers of Blue Cross and its subsidiary companies, Companion Healthcare, HMO Blue and Planned Administrators, Inc.

Members of those companies can link through the Natural Blue page on the Web site into Healthyroads.com, an ASHN affiliate. There they receive information about alternative healthcare, a list of providers in their areas and discounts on products like vitamins, herbal supplements, books and tapes.

ASHN will send a free gift to the first 5,000 Blue Cross, Companion HealthCare, HMO Blue or PAI members who sign up for its free electronic newsletter.
