Source Information and Catalina Marketing Form Venture

Source Information Management Co., St. Louis, yesterday said it formed a venture with Catalina Marketing Corp., St. Petersburg, FL, to develop information and decision-support products for retailers, publishers and consumer package goods manufacturers.

The venture will combine Source Information's causal information database and checkout merchandising experience with Catalina Marketing's expertise in consumer purchase behavior. Catalina Marketing provides targeted marketing services for consumer goods companies and retailers.

The venture plans to develop one product, expected for release later this year, and to explore the potential for others.

Source Information, which provides magazine sales information and management services to retailers and magazine publishers, expects the venture to provide a new high-margin revenue stream.
