Sony Takes Over InfoBeat Letters

In an attempt to increase its online reach and strengthen its relationship with the online audience of music fans, Sony Music Entertainment has acquired the rights to the InfoBeat brand name and its full line of consumer newsletters. InfoBeat, which will now have the sole purpose of providing e-mail communications services to businesses, is changing its name to Exactis.com.


Sony Music will market InfoBeat's consumer e-mail publications: News, Finance, Sports, Entertainment, Weather, Snow, Reminders and Classifieds. There are more than 4 million InfoBeat newsletters distributed daily to subscribers. Sony will work with Exactis to distribute and manage the InfoBeat newsletters.
