Sony Pictures Will Promote Films Across Yahoo

Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment and Yahoo announced an agreement yesterday for the online promotion and marketing of Sony Pictures films.

The two companies said that Yahoo will market select motion picture releases from Sony Pictures Entertainment across its network, starting with "Riding in Cars with Boys," starring Drew Barrymore, which opens Oct. 19.

The promotion for the film includes a list of showtimes and online ticketing through Yahoo Movies. Behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with talent, trailers and still shots from the production will be accessible to Yahoo Movies visitors. Yahoo Auctions offers consumers the chance to bid on wardrobe items from the movie; Yahoo Delivers is e-mailing Yahoo movie fans a special note from film star Drew Barrymore.

The next film to be promoted as part of this agreement will be "Ali," starring Will Smith, which opens Dec. 25.
