Sonicport Enlists CarsDirect.com
Sonicport.com, Los Angeles, yesterday made CarsDirect.com the exclusive automotive e-retailer for Seeyaonline.com, its Internet service providing unit. CarsDirect, Culver City, CA, will let Seeyaonline users research, order and finance automobiles online. The agreement involves revenue sharing, but Sonicport did not disclose specific terms.Sonicport is building a national network that will offer local dial-up Internet access through Seeyaonline. The company hopes eventually to compete with established ISP players such as Mindspring Enterprises Inc. and America Online Inc. Sonicport currently offers access to AOL's instant messaging service through Seeyaonline.
Sonicport uses direct response television, telemarketing, Net ads and direct mail to recruit subscribers.
